# Refund & Return Policy

At Vindhav, we want you to be confident in every system you build. If something isn't right, here's how returns work.

## Return Window

You have **45 days from the date of delivery** to return eligible items for a refund or exchange. Items received after the 45-day window cannot be accepted.

To check eligibility, please refer to the conditions below before contacting us.

## How to Start a Return

1. **Email** [hello@vindhav.com](mailto:returns@vindhav.com) with your order number, the item(s) you'd like to return, and a brief reason
2. We'll review your request within **2 business days** and email you a **prepaid return shipping label** (see "Return Shipping" below)
3. Pack the item securely in its original packaging with all included accessories, manuals, and components
4. Apply the label, drop off at the carrier indicated, and **keep your tracking number**
5. Once we receive and inspect the return, your refund is processed within **5–7 business days**

## Restocking Fee

A **20% restocking fee** applies to all returns. This is deducted from your refund and helps us cover inspection, repackaging, and inventory costs that come with returned merchandise.

The restocking fee is **waived only** in the following cases:
- The item arrived damaged or defective
- We shipped the wrong product
- The item is materially different from how it was described on our website

## Return Shipping

- **You are responsible for return shipping costs.** We email you a prepaid return label, and the cost of that label is deducted from your refund alongside the restocking fee.
- For damaged, defective, or incorrect items, **we cover return shipping** at no cost to you.
- We strongly recommend using the label we provide. Returns sent via other carriers without a label from us may be delayed or refused.

## Condition of Returned Items

To qualify for a refund, items must be:

- **Unused and in resaleable condition** with all original packaging, manuals, accessories, mounting hardware, and protective films intact
- **Free of installation marks, scratches, water exposure, salt residue, or signs of use**
- Returned with all serial numbers, labels, and warranty cards intact

Items showing signs of installation, attempted installation, or use will be refused or returned to you at your expense, and no refund will be issued.

## Non-Returnable Items

The following items **cannot be returned** under any circumstances:

- **Custom-built or made-to-order systems** (custom battery banks, custom solar arrays cut to size, custom wiring harnesses)
- **Special-order items** marked "Special Order" on the product page
- **Hazmat-classified items** that have been opened (sealed lithium batteries, electrolyte, fuel-system chemicals)
- **Software, firmware licenses, and digital downloads** once delivered
- **Installation services and labor charges** once work has begun
- **Gift cards and store credit** (we do not currently issue these)
- **Clearance and final-sale items** marked as such on the product page

## Damaged or Defective Items

If your order arrives damaged in transit or the product is defective, **contact us within 7 days of delivery** at [hello@vindhav.com](mailto:hello@vindhav.com).

Please include:
- Order number
- Photos of the damage (including packaging if shipping-related)
- A description of the issue

We will arrange a replacement or full refund — including original shipping costs — at no charge to you. Restocking fees and return shipping fees are waived for damaged or defective items.

## Manufacturer Warranties

Most products we sell carry the manufacturer's warranty (typically 1–10 years depending on the product). Once outside our 45-day return window, warranty claims are handled directly with the manufacturer. ## Refund Method

Refunds are issued to the **original payment method** used at checkout. Depending on your bank or card issuer, refunds typically appear within:

- **Credit/debit cards:** 5–10 business days after refund is processed
- **PayPal / Shop Pay:** 1–3 business days
- **Bank transfers:** 5–7 business days

We are unable to refund to a different card or account from the one used at purchase.

## Order Cancellations

If you'd like to cancel an order, please contact us **as quickly as possible** at [hello@vindhav.com](mailto:hello@vindhav.com).

- Orders that have **not yet shipped** can be cancelled with a full refund and no restocking fee
- Orders that have **already shipped** must follow the standard return process above (20% restocking fee applies)
- Custom and special-order items **cannot be cancelled** once production has started

## International Returns

We currently ship to select international destinations. International returns are accepted under the same 45-day window, but the customer is responsible for:

- Original shipping costs (non-refundable)
- Return shipping (we do not provide international return labels)
- Any customs duties, taxes, or brokerage fees
